Job description
Bring your advanced clinical skills to Princess Elizabeth Hospital’s 12‑bed Emergency Department in Guernsey, a modern, well‑resourced unit (6 majors bays, paediatric bay, 2 resus bays, eye room, triage and minor assessment) that cares for roughly 23,000 adults and children a year. As an autonomous Advanced Nurse Practitioner you’ll deliver expert assessment, diagnosis and treatment within agreed protocols — prescribing, ordering and interpreting investigations, suturing, arterial blood sampling, digital nerve blocks, joint relocation and advanced airway interventions — working alongside ED doctors to lead safe referrals, discharges and patient‑centred care. You’ll also maintain practice one day a week on a supernumerary basis and use audit and data to drive quality improvements.
This permanent full‑time Band 8a post (salary £67,355–£80,716) is aimed at experienced senior emergency nurses with NMC registration, a Masters in Advanced Clinical Practice, non‑medical prescribing, EPALS/ALS, a degree and teaching/mentoring qualification. The package includes competitive pay, relocation support, strong training and revalidation backing, modern facilities and a genuine commitment to work–life balance within a collaborative, compassionate island service that values your leadership and development.
