Medwyn Surgery in Dorking (RH4 1SD) is looking for a committed Health Care Assistant to work 21 hours per week on a permanent contract. Days are negotiable but the role requires one early evening each week (preferably Tuesday), finishing by 8pm. You will support doctors and nursing staff with treatment‑room duties and clinical tasks under supervision — NHS health checks, ECGs, 24hr BPs, phlebotomy, injections, urinalysis, INRs, and routine observations — as well as infection control, stock management and accurate patient documentation. The practice operates from a modern, purpose‑built health centre, is part of the Dorking Primary Care Network and uses SystmOne; the post offers a structured clinical environment and pays £13.44 per hour.
This role suits organised, compassionate people who want a part‑time NHS position with clear routes for development and practical on‑the‑job support from an experienced HCA and nursing team. Medwyn encourages continuing professional development — opportunities to complete the Care Certificate and additional training such as phlebotomy or vaccine administration are supported — and informal visits are welcome so you can see the setting first‑hand. The ideal candidate will have good communication and IT skills, a clear DBS and experience in primary care or a willingness to learn.
