Job description
Work as a Healthcare Assistant at HMP Wymott in Leyland (PR268LW) delivering hands‑on, clinical care across a varied prison population. This full‑time role (37.5 hours) involves working on the wings, in clinics and inpatients, responding to emergencies and promoting health and wellbeing. You’ll carry out clinical procedures such as venepuncture, obs/NEWS2, ECGs and support continuity of care alongside nurses, nursing associates and pharmacy. Shifts are 07:30–18:00 with alternating weekends (three long days and one shorter day each week), and the post requires relevant clinical competence and experience in a healthcare setting.
This role suits caring, practical people—particularly those with NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and previous hospital, community or secure‑setting experience—who want meaningful, varied work plus clear development. Salary is £25,557–£29,723 (depending on experience) with a pension, 25 days’ annual leave rising with service plus bank holidays, staff discounts and a 24/7 employee assistance helpline.
