Lead Pharmacy Technician – Education & Training at Wye Valley NHS Trust, Hereford County Hospital (HR1 2ER). You will lead the pharmacy department’s education and training offer, creating clear pathways for pharmacy technicians, delivering training to all grades, and supporting undergraduate and foundation year pharmacists. The role also promotes safe medicines use across the MDT and includes occasional clinical duties such as taking medicines histories, completing reconciliation, making therapeutic interventions within scope, final checking and counselling. Managerial responsibilities include writing SOPs, line management, rota setting, monitoring KPIs, service oversight and identifying equipment needs; there is scope to study the Level 3 Apprenticeship in Operational Management with ILM.

This post is ideal for an experienced Accuracy Checking/clinical pharmacy technician with NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science, an Accuracy Checking Technician qualification and a Level 4 Clinical Diploma (or willingness to complete). It is a Band 6, permanent, full-time role (£38,682–£46,580 pa pro rata) in a supportive, rural NHS trust that values career development, work–life balance and compassionate care.
