If you are new to delivering chemotherapy, we will provide a 6 week supernumerary period with a further 6 week Chemotherapy Training programme, supported by our educational facilitators. The chemotherapy department has been awarded ' Gold Accreditation' for our high standards of patient care. We deliver a range of systemic anti-cancer treatments within our dynamic nurse led service. The main Haematology and Oncology Day unit and Teenage and Young adult area are based within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, also offering a community based service at two satellite centres in the north and south of the city. Within these areas we care for and deliver treatment to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders, including patients participating in clinical trials, throughout all stages of their cancer journey. Main duties of the job The majority of the role will be based in the Chemotherapy day unit, with working hours of 08.00-18.00. Once fully trained, you will also be expected to work some of your hours in the community satellite units based at Concord Medical Centre and South Bristol Community Hospital, Monday to Friday 08:30-16:30, including some Bank Holidays. Deliver Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy safely to patients with a range of oncology and haematological conditions, within hospital and community based units. Work as part of the nursing team & MDT to: Be responsible and accountable for the delivery of SACT treatments to a scheduled group of patients. Act as professional role model/team leader setting standards of practice promoting clinical effectiveness and opportunities for teaching others.
