About The Role Pay Details: Grade 6 SCP 14 - 19 £27, 334 – 29, 777 pro rata Salary on appointment will depend upon qualification and experience as determined by the appointing officer. Hours of Work / Working Pattern: 37 (requests for flexible working patterns can be considered) Main Place of Work: Docks Office/Agile Working Temporary Reason: N/A Description: As a Social Care Officer, you will support children, young people and their families/carers, in line with the relevant legislation, guidance, regulations and national standards. You will work independently, and as part of a multi-agency team, undertaking assessments in partnership with children, young people and families to enable them to achieve the outcomes they want to and that meet their needs. Children Looked After Team supports children and young people voluntarily accommodated or subject of Care or Placement Orders. The Team’s focus is on enabling children who are looked after to achieve their potential through stable homes, appropriate education and positive attachments. Where children require therapeutic support, this is readily available. All our Social Care Officers have access to excellent training, including the opportunity to consider training to become Social Workers. About You You will need: To be warm and kind, with a commitment to making a positive impact Experience of working with children, young people and their families. Experience of working in a team. Experience of collating and evaluating information. Awareness and understanding of the issues in relation to children with complexity of need. Knowledge of child development. Knowledge of different types of social work intervention.
