We are a 32 bedded acute surgical ward caring for neurosurgical, orthopaedic and trauma patients, we also have a 10 bedded high dependency area. You will be responsible for providing assistance and support to the Ward Manager, junior staff and the multidisciplinary team in the planning, implementing and evaluating care delivery to patients through continuously developing clinical expertise in all aspects of Neurosurgical, Orthopaedic & Trauma care. To contribute to the provision of an efficiently managed department by ensuring evidence based nursing practice promoted in a safe and suitable environment. To provide the nursing leadership necessary to support and develop the nursing team PERSON SPECIFICATION – Sister/Charge Nurse Band 6 CRITERIA WEIGHT H/M/L 1 A minimum of 3 years Neurosurgical or Orthopedic experience essential or equivalent at Band 5 H Educated to degree level or willingness to undertake course M Participate in relevant training to become a practice assessor H Effective clinical assessment & decision making skills. H Willingness to further expand knowledge and skills. H Ward management experience (previous). M Acute awareness of patient acuity and flow of patients through critical care.
