We provide holistic perioperative care to patients undergoing General Surgery, Urology, Maxillo-Facial, Orthopaedic, Gynaecology, Vascular, Plastics, Dermatology, Renal, and Ophthalmology (Moorfields Eye Hospital). The Surgical Treatment Centre plays a vital role in the education and training of nurses ODPs in the specialty of day surgery. We understand that delivering an excellent learning environment for the staff is vital in maintaining staff growth, so the ethos of new learning and development is keenly supported. The teams are supported in delivering perioperative processes through set protocols that meet local and national standards. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible team player with a keen interest in this specialty. The post is permanent and includes flexible working patterns. Previous Day Surgery experience is desirable although not essential. Main duties of the job Working within our department, your main duties will include: Providing direct patient care, being responsible for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care of patients. Identifying individual patient requirements and acting effectively on changing needs, liaising with and directing relevant staff. Organising time, equipment and staff to deliver safe and efficient patient care. Giving skilled support to medical staff and other members of the multidisciplinary team. Administering drugs and treatments as prescribed in accordance with Trust Policies and Standard Operating Procedures. Demonstrating effective communication within departments and multidisciplinary teams. Advising patients, theircarers and other staff on the promotion of health and prevention of illness. Recognising situations that may be detrimental to the health and well-being of the individual and institute preventative measures. Identifyingthe priorities of care for patients, liaising with and directing relevant staff. Delivering high standards of care. Currently, there are no Weekends, and Bank Holiday shifts.
