This is a full time fixed term (4 month -04/12/2024- 01/03/2025)hospital post to cover a vacant post. The job entails responsibilities in acute paediatrics and neonatal care. Previous paediatric experience is desirable but not essential The Children's Unit, opened in February 2002, is on the second floor of the building. The ward has 20 in-patient beds, including 1 HDU bed and a 4 bed area used for elective admissions for theatre or investigations. The Children's Unit includes a play area and a parent's unit. As well as taking paediatric medical patients, the ward admits children under 17 years from all other specialties. The adult ITU provides short-term intensive care for children whilst retrieval by regional Paediatric ICU is organised. The Children's Outpatient Department is adjacent to the Children's Ward. Duties - The successful candidates will be responsible for Care of emergency and elective admissions Routine work in the Children's Ward and on SCBU. Attendance at high risk births and neonatal resuscitation when required Completion of Newborn Infant Physical Examination for all babies within 72 hours of life Review of babies on postnatal ward receiving transitional care Review of babies and children in the Rapid Access Clinic The post holder can expect appropriate senior supervision at all times.
