This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified librarian to join the Knowledge and Library team in NHSBT. You will use your professional skills to deliver quality information services to inform decision making and best practice across the organisation. This is a new role and as a knowledge and evidence librarian you will help us to design and deliver innovative solutions to mobilise the evidence in the places it is needed. you will be a strong advocate for evidence-based healthcare, have expert search skills and be passionate about delivering search skills training. This is a hybrid role where you will oversee the organisations physical library in NHSBTs headquarters in Filton, as well as promoting and providing services remotely to colleagues based in centres across the country and to home workers. You will be part of a small supportive team and will be encouraged to participate in the wider NHS Knowledge and Library network, including involvement in communities of professional practice and training opportunities. Providing professional library services for NHS Blood and Transplant, that are aligned to NHSBTs organisational priorities, and NHS Englands Knowledge for Healthcare Strategy. Proactively promoting and delivering knowledge and library Services to inform the work of clinical and non-clinical staff. This may involve attending education days, multi-disciplinary team meetings and quality improvement groups to provide evidence from research and examples of good practice. Developing and delivering training programmes and e-learning resources for searching for and appraising information sources, ensuring people have the knowledge and skills to access the most relevant and up-to-date evidence. Supporting and embedding evidence-based practice and knowledge sharing across NHS Blood and Transplant by carrying out professional evidence searches and producing current awareness resources to support decision making, teaching, continuing professional development, service redesign and research activities. Maintaining systems used within the Knowledge and Library Service. E.g. Library management system, OpenAthens admin portal and link resolver systems. Your primary base will be in the library in Filton Blood Centre with the opportunity for some remote working. Occasional travel to other NHSBT locations around the country is required. "}
