More than 22,000 people across the UK took part in the survey, The happiest place to live in Scotland is Galashiels - Scottish Field The Role You would gain experience looking after patients under the care of the Hospital at Home service, providing hospital-level care in patient’s own homes or Care Homes. You would be working within a supportive team of consultants and nurse practitioners. We currently provide this service to patients living within the central Borders region but hope to expand to other regions as the service grows. If you wish there may be the opportunity to contribute to the general medical out of hours rota at the BGH, only by mutual agreement and if not impacting daytime working within Hospital at Home. This post is aimed at post foundation doctors at ST1 or ST2 level who have completed a foundation medical training programme (or have gained equivalent additional clinical experience). Full GMC registration and licence to practice is essential but no previous Hospital at Home experience is required. A Drivers License and access to a car is essential for this role. Travel expenses incurred while seeing patients will be reimbursed. This post is not a recognised training grade but may be a great opportunity to develop and evidence clinical and professional competence to assist overall career development, particularly for those interested in careers in medicine, medicine of the elderly or General Practice.
