We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included. The shift pattern is Approx 13:00 19:00 Mon-Fri 3 shifts NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. Due to the anticipated response to this post it may close before the closing date noted on the advert therefore once you start your application form please complete it immediately An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeper band 2 within the Day surgery unit at the New Victoria ACH. The day surgery unit within the New Victoria consists of 8 theatres with associated recovery facility and admission and discharge unit. We offer a variety of specialities including Orthopaedics, Urology, ENT, Ophthalmology, General, Maxilla facial and Gynaecology. The department is fully committed to increasing our capacity to care for increasingly complex patients as per the British association of Days Surgery recommendations. Whilst no experience is necessary as training and support will be given, experience in a health care setting as well as moving and handling training would be advantageous. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the post holder will ensure the upkeep of the Day Surgery Department and work collaboratively with all members of the Day Surgery team to attend to housekeeping tasks within the unit. The housekeeper will support the registered nurse and other relevant professional practitioners, where appropriate. You are required to demonstrate flexibility within your working week and within south sector. Furthermore, you will be expected where necessary to engage in multi-site working within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde in order to achieve the needs of the service.
