The Alcohol Care Team (ACT) consists of a small team of specialist nurses, working across all wards and department NMGH. The service is currently operating Monday to Friday 08:00-1800, with a view to increasing to 7 days. You will be expected to be able to work autonomously within this small team, and in partnership with the wider MFT Alcohol Care Teams, Multi-disciplinary Teams, and Community Substance Misuse Services. The team provides clinical expertise and knowledge relating to the identification, assessment, treatment, and management of patients attending or admitted to NMGH with Alcohol-use Disorders or alcohol related harm. The successful applicant should be highly motivated in working with this patient group and have an interest in developing their skills further in this specialized field. They should be able to work as an independent practitioner and have excellent communication and time management skills. They will work with the team to improve quality of care and development of the service. The ability to be able to deliver teaching and training sessions to colleagues is also an important part of the role. This role will require some cross site working to 2 other sites Wythenshawe and MRI which currently have functioning Alcohol Care Teams The successful applicant should be highly motivated in working with this patient group and have an interest in developing their skills further in this specialised field.
