An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, committed and experienced Healthcare Assistant to provide high quality services to the community who use the Integrated Contraception and Sexual Health (iCaSH) services across Cambridgeshire. You will be based at our site in Wisbech, which includes a clinic in Ely. You have, ‘front of house’, experience, with a demonstrable ability to develop a warm and welcoming rapport with people who use our services. You have a keen eye for detail and have an understanding of the sensitivity and confidentiality involved in the delivery of a contraception, sexual health and HIV service. You are required to hold a Care Certificate qualification, be trained to provide both phlebotomy and chaperone duties, or demonstrate a willingness to undertake training. Before applying for this vacancy please be aware of the salary threshold required for a certificate of sponsorship to be granted, and that unfortunately overseas applicants who are new to care may not reach the minimum salary threshold to obtain a certificate of sponsorship’ (should we receive a high number of applications, we reserve the right to close the advert earlier than advertised) The service operates Monday to Saturday, with evening clinics each week. You must be willing to work across all parts of the service where appropriate, including evenings and weekends, and be able to meet the travel requirements of the Trust. You will be part of a dynamic team who ensure the efficient and effective use of available resources, in meeting the contraception, sexual health and HIV care needs of people in Cambridgeshire. To welcome patients and obtain relevant personal and clinical details as appropriate treating all such information as confidential. Following training, and once signed off as competent, to act as a chaperone and assist nurses/doctors to undertake intimate examinations/procedures and or sexual health screening on patients. Following training, provide a phlebotomy service for patients attending the services. To participate in outreach and support health promotion events when requested. To undertake in annual appraisal of work, one to ones, and clinical supervision throughout the year. To undertake non-clinical duties in support of the admin team, for example undertake call taking and reception cover including 0300 number answering, registering patients and booking, support data collection and or general patient and non-patient administration. Following training, undertake, read and interpret microscopy slides as directed by clinicians and appropriately document and communicate the associated findings, if required by the clinical service.
