We're now looking for an experienced CBT therapist, mental health nurse, social worker or other healthcare professional who is skilled in identifying and managing patient risk to join our friendly team. Our Mental Health Duty Worker would be employed as a Risk and Referrals Manager to lead the development of our Duty management system, reviewing daily referrals while advising and supporting the team around risk and safeguarding, keeping patients and staff safe. You'll be in daily contact with patients and various healthcare professionals. Main duties of the job For this interesting role you'll need to be competent around risk management which you'll have gained through your experience of working with secondary mental health care. You'll have a can-do attitude with excellent communication skills even when working under pressure in a busy service. No two days are the same which means you'll need a flexible approach while adhering to protocols and procedures. If you're a professional team player then Psychological Therapies experience isn't necessary as our comprehensive induction programme will ensure you're given all the support you need. We can consider job sharing for the right people. The role includes substantial client contact by telephone, often talking with people who may be distressed, to help screen client suitability for the service and make referrals where appropriate into secondary mental health services. You will manage the interface between NHS West Sussex Talking Therapies and secondary mental health care services. Based in either Horsham or Worthing office you'll ideally be able to travel between sites on a regular basis, with potential to work from a location in Chichester when needed.Looking after the team's wellbeing is a priority for us and you'll receive regular supervision and continued professional development with leadership opportunities.
