The ideal candidate will possess a current NMC registration and have substantial experience in nursing, with a focus on alcohol liaison or substance misuse. A profound understanding of the physical and psychological effects of alcohol is essential. Additionally, the role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with a multidisciplinary team and provide comprehensive care. The working hours for the role will be Mon-Fri 9-5 with a pay rate of up to £36.01 per hour. Key Duties Develop and maintain robust alcohol withdrawal protocols and educational support for health professionals, within the inpatient setting. Participate in high quality audit and research in the field of alcohol misuse and use appropriate data collection tools both within the hospital and with the drug and alcohol service. Meet the NMC requirements in line with the Code of Professional Conduct for their scope of responsibility and provide clinical expertise within the multidisciplinary team. Provide specialist assessment of people presenting with alcohol issues within a biopsychosocial framework and offer opportunistic brief interventions to inpatients. Formulate risk management plans in conjunction with community alcohol services, medical teams and psychiatric liaison / services for service users presenting with complex risk.
