Previous candidates should not apply Main duties of the job Applicants are invited for a new Senior Clinical Fellow in Colorectal and General Surgery. The successful applicant will work for 1 year (plus possible extension for a further year as desired) to develop a specialist interest in: Laparoscopic and open surgery Emergency Endoscopy (with JAG accreditation training possible) Education Work alongside deanery trainees with equal opportunities for training. You will have the opportunity work alongside all of the consultant team with a wide variety and case mix You will have exposure to Colorectal & Emergency surgery. Our Surgical team presently comprises 12 Consultant Surgeons, supported by an Associate Specialist, Deanery Registrars, Clinical Fellows and junior doctors at CT, F2 and F1 levels. Specific sessions will be allocated for management and education so that the post holders will be trained in these important areas alongside surgery and perioperative management. The post-holder will experience a range of elective Colorectal and General Surgery with opportunities to gain exposure to complex benign and malignant surgery. The successful applicant will have outpatient clinic responsibilities under the direct supervision of a named consultant. Work carried out by the Senior Clinical Fellow will be at the equivalent level of a SpR. The Clinical Fellow will participate on the general emergency rota, which is a 1:12 on-call with prospective cover for leave.
