The post will be for a fixed term 12 month clinical attachment in the Oral and Maxillofacial Department to provide clinical experience and development opportunities for a Specialist in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Provide outpatients new, review and treatment clinics under the guidance & supervision of the Oral and Maxillofacial Consultants. Participate in case reviews, feedback sessions and maintain a logbook of clinical experience gained during the post. Support the work of Junior staff within the department, including supervising undergraduates when appropriate. Become involved in the interdisciplinary care of patients with Orthodontic and Restorative Dentistry Teams Support the Oral and Maxillofacial Department in delivering undergraduate & postgraduate training in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire. Become involved in regional networks such as the MCN for Oral and Maxillofacial Participate in clinical audit. Be expected to take an active part in continuing medical education. The Trust encourages involvement in clinical governance. The Unit provides a comprehensive secondary care service in all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The successful candidate will work along side the consultant and junior Oral and Maxillofacial team. The maxillofacial unit also provides teaching for undergraduate dental students from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) and University of Leeds who attend placements at the Trust. There are offices, secretarial and computer facilities on all of our sites. We have and electronic EPR and PACs system for radiography and digital photography across the Bay. There is a fully equipped maxillofacial laboratory based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary with high quality and skilled technical support. "}
