Do you want to be part of the strong leadership team, caring for and providing specialist rehabilitation to patients following, often life changing, brain injury? An opportunity has arisen to become a Band 6 nursing leader on our Neurorehabilitation Ward. The position within this Directorate offers many opportunities for individuals to develop their leadership skills and ongoing professional development is encouraged and supported. We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced, passionate and motivated individual with effective communication skills to join this fantastic team. Ward 26 is a dedicated Neurorehabilitation unit , specialising in the care and multidisciplinary rehabilitation of patients following brain injury. The successful candidate will join a hardworking and forward thinking multi-disciplinary team, with a focus on safe, compassionate and effective care, closely linked with patient experience and outcomes. It is a busy and rewarding environment to work in. You will be fully supported in your exciting role by the Matron and Ward Manager, as well as another Band 6 Sister. The role requires you to be flexible, resilient and forward thinking. You will work closely with the ward manager, to share responsibility for the running of the ward, delivery and continued improvement of the service to meet performance indicators and quality standards whilst providing excellent patient-focused care. This will include people management, budget awareness and resource management, utilising a wide range of interpersonal skills working with colleagues within and beyond the ward multi-disciplinary team. Applicants must be able to demonstrate proven clinical expertise in this clinical area, along with effective organisational and communication skills. You will have a key role in the training and development of the nursing team. You will have some experience in service development/improvement and be able to demonstrate knowledge of current NHS policies and drivers. After you complete these six and a half days of training you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities.
