The suitable individual must have post registration experience at Band 6. Excellent interpersonal communication skills required, as well as leadership and organisational skills. Negotiation and mediation skills are also necessary along with the ability to multi-task. Evidence of continuing professional development is required and you must have a commitment to teaching. You Will Possess Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team. A clear vision for best practice. A reputation for professional innovation. An ability to develop relationships across professional and organisational boundaries. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. The post holder will carry twenty-four hour continuing responsibility for the management of the respective ward. They will be highly experienced in inpatient mental health nursing. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a quality nursing service to all patients in their care, ensuring that all resources are used to optimum effect. They will be responsible for the devising and implementation of policies and procedures for their ward, which will ensure the highest standards of patient care within existing/current resources and which will ensure the highest standards and mission of the UHB. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of staff through the observance and implementation of Health and Safety Policies and also assist them in identifying and achieving training and developmental needs through the implementation of UHB policies and procedures. Assist the Senior Nurse in developing systems and processes to monitor:- quality of care adherence to UHB polices and procedures clinical practice. Deputise as necessary for the Senior Nurse.
