Please see full advert details for further information Main duties of the job All the details are in the job description, but in summary you will have a board and varied role as an HCA. You'll always be busy, but the work is interesting and rewarding and every day goes quickly! You'll work closely with all disciplines of staff within the ophthalmic multidisciplinary team to deliver the highest levels of nursing care to a range of patients within the ophthalmic out-patient department and community outreach clinics. Once competency is obtained it will be necessary to undertake the following to support clinical activity: Instillation of eye drops A range of visual acuity testing Visual field assessment Focimetry Auto-refraction Assisting with treatments Chaperoning patients in Clinics Using aseptic non-touch technique to pass items onto sterile fields. Core working hours are Mon-Fri 8:00 to 17:30, Working a rotation of the weekly evening clinic until 19:30 and Saturdays 8:00 to 14:00, we currently do not work Sundays or Bank holidays, however if the need arises then we will be required to work.
