This is an exciting opportunity to work within a friendly, well established and highly regarded multidisciplinary pain team including Consultant Anaesthetists and Physiotherapists. The Pain Team provides assessment within MDT clinics in Warwick and Stratford and supports targeted interventions for those requiring ongoing support. The post holder will oversee the provision of Chronic Pain Programmes with a specialist Physiotherapist which incorporates ACT and Mindfulness in line with evidence based psychological care. There will also be the opportunity for individual work with clients. The post is hosted within the Department of Clinical Health Psychology which is based at Stratford Hospital and there is a wealth of skill and expertise within the various sub specialities. We are a supportive team with excellent links with local Clinical Psychology training courses, offering specialist placements to trainees and students. The post holder will be well supported and supervised by senior Clinical Psychologists with extensive experience in Health Psychology. Provisional interview date for post: 10th October 2024 To provide a specialist Clinical Psychology service to the Pain Team to address the psychological needs of those referred with chronic pain conditions. To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise individual responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service. To specialise in providing clinical psychology assessment and programmes of care and advice to patients, their families and carers and staff within pain management. To contribute to service evaluation, audit, research and policy development. The post-holder will be employed within the Clinical Health Psychology Department of South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust and will be responsible to a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. The post holder will be required to provide input to MDT pain clinics, attend team meetings and provide both individual and group interventions (Chronic pain programme, Back in Action).
