For further information about this job please see attached job description Milton Keynes Mental Health Support Teams are looking for four qualified registered Mental Health Practitioners to join two new Wave 11 Teams. Applicants must be a qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) or a Children and Young People Wellbeing Practitioner (CYP WP); or qualified and registered Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with previous consolidated post graduate experience of working with young people with emotional and mental health issues with experience of delivering evidenced-based CBT interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues to CYP both individually and in groups. We seek to appoint enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are passionate about improving health outcomes for children and young people. MK MHST works with Young people with mild to moderate mental health presentations attending school. The purpose of the team is to Provide evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health issues. Support the senior mental health lead in each education setting to introduce or develop their whole school or college approach. Give timely advice to school and college staff, and liaising with external specialist services, to help children and young people to get the right support and stay in education. You will be part of a new Mental Health Support Team (MHST) created to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people and to play a key part in a team of people delivering low intensity interventions into schools and other settings in MK. You will work alongside EMHPs and CYPWPs, Mental Health Practitioners and a Senior Practitioner. You will undertake assessments of children and young people and deliver evidence based low intensity group and individual interventions to children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and depression and/or behavioural difficulties and their families and carers. You are expected to work in schools closely with school staff to support CYP, their families and staff to foster a whole school approach to mental well-being. This role requires flexibility and adaptability and above all, a passion for working with children and young people with mental health difficulties within an educational context. Applicants who have not yet completed the PG Certificate in Supervision for Children and Young People's Services (CBT/PT/EMHP/CWP/CYPWP) or equivalent, will be required to meet the university entry requirements for and successfully undertake the training at the University of Reading from March 2025. Other service specific training in range of evidence based therapeutic modalities is also available. "}
