This is a Category A men’s prison in Worcestershire. You will be joining an integrated mental health and substance misuse team, who are passionate and dedicated to improving the psychological wellbeing of the population here. We are looking for someone who enjoys MDT working. Part of your role will be to provide psychological therapy for mental health challenges as per the Stepped Care Model. This will be on an individual basis holding a caseload, as well as the delivery of group work. You will be supervised and supported by the incumbent Clinical Psychologist. Other parts of the role will involve providing consultation and formulation to colleagues, and facilitation of monthly reflective practice groups. You will work with the Clinical Psychologist, Team Manager, and Psycho Social Lead to ensure that all members of the multidisciplinary team have access to psychologically informed ways of thinking about service users. There will be opportunities to develop and deliver training to the team as well. Other additional tasks and projects may include involvement in research, evaluation, and audit activity. We are looking for HCPC registered practitioner (clinical, counselling, or forensic) psychologists or appropriately accredited (BABCP or core professional registration with e.g. NMC) psychological therapists who are passionate about social justice and reducing health inequalities. Given the challenges of working in a prison environment, we are looking for people who have experience of working in a prison or other forensic setting, although this does not need to be as a registered practitioner. You will have experience of delivering assessments and evidence-based interventions. You will enjoy working independently and have the skills to develop excellent working relationships with service users, and colleagues, including Partner Agencies. You will support the shared aims of Inclusion and HMPPS to work towards creating more trauma informed environments and services within prisons.
