If so, this could be the role for you! An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well motivated individual to join the team as a Ward Clerk, within Scarborough Hospital. This position is for Maple Ward, which is our busy surgical ward. The successful applicant will need to be available to undertake induction and training during the day until they are fully trained and are able to work confidently on their own during the evenings. i.e. outside the normal contracted hours for this post. You will need to be flexible and open to possible ward changes, self-disciplined, motivated and be empathetic to all those you come into contact with. It is essential that you can prioritise your own workload, possess sound communication skills, work as part of a team, but also exercise initiative within set parameters. Applicants that have applied for this post in the last 6 months need not apply. This fast paced environment provides care for patients admitted from GP consultations and clinic appointments within the hospital, and via the Emergency Department. The successful applicant will be expected to cover all wards across the hospital. Interested applicants must have excellent communication skills, be a good team player and enjoy meeting and working with the public. Basic computer skills are also a requirement for the job and NHS experience would be an advantage; however, full training will be given to the successful applicant on use of the hospital computer systems.
