We provide bespoke educational therapeutic programmes delivered in a variety of environments. Our work is funded through contracts with Local Education Authorities, Adoption Services, Social Care and the NHS. You will have extensive opportunities to work with parents, children, external professionals and schools. We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed Assistant Clinical Psychologist Band 4 or Band 5 equivalent to join our service and help in the delivery of the therapeutic elements of our programmes. The successful candidate will be someone with an approved undergraduate degree in Psychology (either 2:1 or higher, or 2:2 together with a Masters level degree), with eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society. The candidate should have experience in working with children and young people with Autism and associated difficulties. They will have delivered evidence-based psychological therapies (e.g. CBT) and have knowledge of evidence-based behaviour management interventions. The candidate should have good oral and written communication skills, as well as good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with young people and families who may be resistant to engaging in therapeutic input. The role will include assisting the Clinical Psychologists and other members of the multidisciplinary team in assessing the psychological needs of young people, formulating their difficulties, and engaging in direct work with young people and their families using evidence-based approaches. The role may also require you to undertake teaching to support MSA staff to implement psychological-based strategies with young people and families.
