Does the prospect of being supported to develop and progress from band 6 to band 7 appeal to you? If your answer to these questions is Yes, then we have just the role for you! York Hospital is looking for enthusiastic and patient focused pharmacist/trainee pharmacist to join our friendly Pharmacy Team. The post is ideal for someone wanting to develop their clinical knowledge and skills. In this full-time role, you will have the opportunity to gain clinical experience in many different specialities such as; elderly care, respiratory, diabetes, cardiology, stroke, gastroenterology, acute medical admissions and surgery. You will also undertake a 4-month placement in Mental Health with our local Mental Health and Learning Disabilities NHS Trust (TEWV). We provide an individually tailored induction plan and mentor and welcome all applicants whether you have hospital pharmacy experience or not. We gradually introduce key responsibilities as experience is gained and you will be supported to develop your clinical knowledge and skills. After being in post for at least 12 months and being able to demonstrate you have met the key responsibilities you will be eligible for progression into a band 7 role. We actively encourage your development in the form of a postgraduate clinical diploma. We will provide you with a senior tutor and allocated study time. There will also be opportunity for further development into non-medical prescribing. You will provide sessional support to Technical Services, Medicines Information and Dispensary. You will also be expected to participate in the weekend rotas and on-call (approximately a day a month).
