As a Dental Nurse Advisor, you will be part of a busy and growing team playing your part in helping to ensure that patients and the public are first in everything NHS Scotland does. You will be providing dental telephone triage to patients in the Out of Hours period. This will include a high level of clinical assessment, advice, and referral to appropriate Out of Hours Dental Emergency Services as required and provide Pharmacy/Analgesic Advice. Key Responsibilities Provide a high standard of service to the patient/caller by dealing safely and promptly with all calls Assess each patient by prioritising each patient’s condition with aid of dental telephone triage framework and training given Offer appropriate pain relief Identify serious and urgent situations and refer patient to appropriate service within a specific timeframe Provide callers with contact details for other NHS services as appropriate Participate in evaluation of SEDS Ensure confidentiality process is always adhered to. Ensure continuous personal development by ensuring knowledge is up to date Successful Applicant You will be a qualified Dental Nurse Broad range of post registration experience Evidence of well-developed critical decision making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong IT Skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems Our Enhanced Salary Package NHS 24 offers a complete benefits package, with a permanent contract on Band 5 (£30,229 - £37,664) Placement on salary scale is dependent on confirmation of previous relevant NHS service.
