Main duties of the job The post includes receiving and checking of samples, data entry, interacting with patients and other service users, dealing with phone queries as well as some other basic laboratory tasks. The postholder will work within the Sample Reception / Office areas of Pathology and occasionally have to assist Biomedical Scientists in pre analytical duties such as the centrifugation of samples. Good keyboard skills are essential as well as high level of accuracy, good literacy, numeracy and communication skills especially over the phone. The applicant must be an excellent team player and be able to carry out detailed, repetitive tasks. The post includes receiving and checking of samples, data entry, interacting with patients and other service users, dealing with phone queries as well as some other basic laboratory tasks. The successful applicant will be required to participate in the '7-day working' pattern including Bank Holidays.
