The unit is open Monday to Saturday 6.30am-6pm. The unit is nurse led providing haemodialysis to a high standard, incorporating some of the latest technology for 58 patients within the local community. We are looking for a full time Band 3 Healthcare Assistant To work 37.5 hours per week They should have experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a health care setting and be looking to expand their knowledge and become part of a small, dedicated team. An interest in Renal Medicine would be an advantage. The unit offers a good opportunity for a dynamic, hardworking, and enthusiastic individual to develop their skills within the area of renal care. Liaise effectively with all staff working within the department, based at renal satellite unit. To actively work at all times within the Trust policies and procedures. Act responsibly in emergency situations, in the absence of medical support. Report any change in patient’s condition or any problems or hazards within the department to the nurse in charge. Perform basic nursing care for the patient’s assisting patients as necessary. To prepare haemodialysis machines and equipment as necessary to undertake a safe and successful dialysis session. To be actively involved in the assessment, planning, monitoring and evaluation of patient care prior to, during and post haemodialysis. Demonstrates and ability to trouble shoot haemodialysis problems and report accordingly. Performs and records accurate observations of BP and TPR and weight gains and report as necessary. To actively participate in day to day upkeep of stock levels and cleanliness. Undertake housekeeping tasks such as cleaning chair, tables, equipment.
