The role of the colorectal cancer CNS includes providing information, advice and support for colorectal cancer patients, and those close to them, at all stages of their disease, including pre and post any surgical intervention, which may include stoma formation, and during oncology treatment. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who can demonstrate the appropriate knowledge and skills to join our team, where we are committed to ensuring that patients are at the centre of our service. Essential requirements are: RGN with a degree is required or working towards is required. Oncology experience is desirable. A knowledge of colorectal surgery is desirable. You must have excellent communication skills and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to practice autonomously and demonstrate an advanced level of knowledge in relation to the care of colorectal patients. The post holder will run nurse led clinics, provide ward based education and facilitate effective health care delivery. Leadership, innovation, motivation and excellent communication skills are essential as is the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. The ability to be flexible and organised in the workplace with a passion for delivering a quality and successful service is essential.
