We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic Supervisor to support our busy Outpatient service and the operational running of Outpatients in the Cancer Centre. The individual will work closely with a range of roles at various levels to enhance the overall experience for our patients and deliver operational improvements to the service we provide. The post holder must be a strong leader and act as the key liaison between doctors, nurses, managers and patients. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and the ability to influence, support and motivate a team. The successful candidate will be a clear and tactful communicator with excellent customer care skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of people. You will have a mature attitude, good problem-solving skills and a flexible can-do attitude. This is a busy fast paced environment so the ability to multitask and use initiative in a busy environment supporting a range of teams is essential. The post is offered on a full-time basis, 37.5 hrs per week, with shifts varying between the hours of 8am-6.30pm. The work will be predominantly Monday to Friday but the post holder may occasionally be asked to work outside of these hours (inc. Saturdays and Bank Holidays) during busy service periods. PLEASE NOTE: working from home is not an option unfortunately due to service requirements. Lead the provision of a high quality, comprehensive and efficient administrative service. To ensure all patient appointments and treatment is scheduled in line with trust and national targets Responsible for the day-to-day management of the team and their communications with patients, clinical and non-clinical service users and ensuring that that staff are managed in line with Trust Policies with compassion Review and report on staff performance, working with individuals to set clear standards and objectives, identifying training and development needs as well as performance/conduct issues as appropriate. Ensuring all the bands 3 staff are compliant with the Mandatory training Plan and manage a rota for the team. Deputise in the absence of the Assistant Service Manager Motivate and support staff so that they understand the objectives of the service within which they work and are able to maximise their contribution to the highest standard of patient care. Prepare and produce reports/spreadsheets, presentations and other documents as requested using the format required.
