There will also be the opportunity to work in luminal research via established research links with the University of Bristol. In addition the post holder will be part of the general medical oncall rota at the Bristol Royal Infirmary, leading the acute medical take and the out of hours medical inpatient team as medical registrar. Main duties of the job The Department of Gastroenterology offers exposure to the regional intestinal failure service, experience in working in complex inflammatory bowel disease and in luminal research. The clinical aspect of the post can be tailored to the needs of the post-holder with the aim to provide 1 outpatient clinic per week, seeing both new and follow up patients (inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition and general luminal gastroenterology), supervised by a consultant from the gastrointestinal team. A regular endoscopy list will also be timetabled with additional endoscopy experience available via the daily acute GI bleed lists and adhoc inpatient lists. The remaining clinical time will be spent supporting inpatient work on the specialist gastrointestinal ward and providing an inreach service.
