The Post This is a challenging opportunity to help harness the buying power of more than £2.4 billion spent each year across the NHS in Scotland. National Procurement, the Procurement Centre of Expertise for Health, works in collaboration with health boards to ensure the highest level of patient care through the provision of a wide range of goods and services via a series of best value National Contracts and Distribution Services. Working within the Equipping Sourcing portfolio the post holder is responsible for delivering a procurement service to the Category Manager and Buyers as required in relation to major healthcare equipping developments, national screening programmes and other major capital procurement initiatives. The postholder will also lead on minor Capital Projects (value <£1,000,000) resulting in the project being completed on time, to specification and within budget. The postholder will be responsible for developing and administering the Master Indemnity Agreement for NHS Scotland The Candidate The candidate should have demonstrable/proven experience in contracting or purchasing and should hold or be studying towards a higher qualification e.g. membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or business related qualification Location and Working Pattern: Gyle Square, Edinburgh or Canderside, Larkhall Currently, hybrid working is in place, however, you will be required to attend the office for regular in person meetings Monday to Friday 37 hours per week It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
