This role is based within ward 5 a 30-bed rehabilitation ward. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will provide administration and clerical support to the Charge Nurse and registered Nurses to support the smooth operation of the ward. You will carry out assigned duties, order supplies, ensure safety within the ward environment, and work with fellow ward clerks within the ward setting. You should process excellent keyboard, organisational and communication skills. Knowledge and experience of a hospital environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of NHS systems and processes, however training will be provided. Knowledge of confidentiality and safe handling of information / GDPR is required. You should have the ability to work as part of a team with minimum supervision. What should you bring? Excellent organisational skills Customer service based communication skills Comfortable working/networking as part of a team Knowledge of health and social care would be an advantage. Experience of working with Microsoft Office packages Accuracy and ability to work to work on own initiative. Good organizational skills A flexible approach - the ability to deal with the competing demands of the post e.g. supporting cover for wards 6,7 Please note the salary for this post is pro rata to part time hours. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
