The shift pattern is Monday/Friday An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 permanent, full time Medical Secretary to join the Respiratory Service within Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The post holder should be a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual, who has the desire to develop their skills and who will deliver a quality secretarial service. You will be expected to provide efficient and effective medical secretarial support to Consultant’s and associated medical staff. The post holder will assist in the organisation of the Consultant’s workload, managing their calendar and work commitments as well as responsibility for the co-ordination of the relevant inpatient waiting lists. An awareness of medical terminology and a high degree of typing speed and accuracy are desirable. The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills and be confident in dealing with patient enquiries in an efficient and effective manner. You will be expected to act on your own initiative and provide cross-cover for other secretaries as necessary to facilitate service function. A high degree of competency in all Microsoft 365 packages and a focus on improving working practices is desirable.
