The successful candidate would be rotating between Ward 9, Ward 10 & the Orthopaedic Short Stay Unit. Primarily we deal with people who are receiving elective procedures such as joint replacements but we also do a wide range of other surgical procedures including hand & arm surgery, foot & ankle surgery, spinal surgery, arthroscopies, cancer surgery and pain management. The patients are admitted through the DoSA unit and come to the ward after their surgery. The geographical location we cover extends throughout the whole of Grampian and encompasses Orkney & Shetland. We also take patients from Highland and Tayside who require specialised procedures. The wards can be very busy depending on the number of surgical patients coming in which can vary on a day to day basis. Previous experience in surgical nursing or recent acute hospital experience would be essential for this post. We are therefore looking for a hard working, flexible, enthusiastic and motivated nurse with an interest in surgical nursing & orthopaedics. The successful candidate should possess excellent organisational & time management skills. The nursing staff work 12 hour shifts and this would include day & night duty rotation but working hours/patterns can be discussed further at time of interview.
