We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to work in our department to provide excellent, safe perioperative care to our patients. We are a keen teaching hospital with lots of opportunities available to learn and develop your skills. The post holder will be encouraged to take an active involvement in all departmental activities including audit and research. The Royal Surrey County Hospital has become the regional oncological surgical hospital for much of Surrey and parts of Sussex and Hampshire serving a population of 1.5 million patients. Many of the highly specialised surgical specialties are now established here and include ENT, maxillofacial, oesophagogastric, hepatobiliary, gastrointestinal, urological and gynaecology. The hospital has an international reputation in laparoscopic surgery with Enhanced Recovery in conjunction with the MATTU centre and the University of Surrey. Main duties of the job This post is an integral part of the Anaesthetic Department trainee rota with a 1 in 8 on-call commitment covering either theatres or obstetrics. Rotas are subject to review and change to reflect service delivery. Daytime work includes training or solo lists, depending on departmental needs and competency of the individual. Training will be provided in the available subspecialties of anaesthesia with the opportunity to gain further core training (CT3) competencies, which can be utilised for future subspecialty training applications (ST4).
