Due to new funding, We have opening for a Band 6 experienced children’s nurse to join the community Children’s Complex Care team. The Complex care team provide care and support to children and young people with complex health needs in a variety of settings across Manchester. As a Band 6 Children's Nurse, the successful applicant will support the band 7 Team Leader to manage the complex care team. You will take some responsibility for line managing and training the Band 3 support workers who work day and night shifts in the children’s home. You will support the Team Leader with continuing care assessments and make recommendations following the Children’s and Young People’s Continuing Care Framework. You will also oversee the day to day nursing needs of the children on the caseload. Experience of working with children with complex medical needs and having the ability to train colleagues, parents and other health / education professionals is essential. We are looking for a motivated and dedicated individual who can work flexibly to meet the needs of the service that provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You will be required to work some shifts to support training or to cover sickness or annual leave. You will also be part of a wider integrated team providing palliative care and nursing care within the specialist schools.
