We are looking for a highly experienced psychological professional with excellent leadership, clinical, organisational and management skills to lead the Mental Health Service for Older Persons Psychology Service. You will be passionate about championing psychological approaches and mental health needs for older adults across community and inpatient services with extensive knowledge, skills and experience in Older Adult Mental Health with a range of experience across community and inpatient areas as an applied psychologist or psychological professional. In this post you will provide leadership, development, management and clinical expertise to the Psychology Service within Older Adult Mental Health Services across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. This includes community and inpatient services. You will provide professional leadership to a friendly, supportive and welcoming team of applied psychologists working into 8 Community Mental Health Teams, a Memory Service and 4 Older Adult Inpatient wards. You will be part of a wider psychology and psychological therapies leadership team within a directorate and organisation that values and embraces psychological approaches and psychological professions. To work with the Directorate Lead for Psychology and Psychological Therapies and other clinical and operational senior leaders in the Mental Health Directorate on development plans to support the design, development and delivery of a high-quality, responsive and accessible psychological service in an integrated way within service delivery teams. To manage the delegated budget for the Mental Health Services for Older People Psychology service, which is part of the overall MHSOP budget. To be responsible for the day-to-day management and leadership of the staff working within Mental Health Services for Older People Psychology Service. Working within a multi professional and recovery-oriented framework to actively facilitate psychologically informed ways of working within MHSOP. To ensure systems are in place and working effectively for the supervision and governance of the clinical practice for all clinicians within the MHSOP psychology service. To facilitate training, development and application of agreed models of psychological, psychosocial and psycho-educational interventions as needed within the Trust. To ensure robust supervision, and clinical support is available to colleagues within MHSOP and the Mental Health directorate on matters related to the provision of Psychological interventions for Older Persons. To provide clinical leadership on all matters relating to provision and practice of Applied Psychology and Psychological therapies within MHSOP.
