An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Department of Oncology for an individual to join our multidisciplinary team .The successful applicant will be based in the oncology unit within the outpatient settings, predominantly within the outpatient clinic but will be required to vary their workplace within the chemotherapy outpatient settings when required. The successful candidate will be required to provide a high quality, safe and supportive environment for patients, carers and relatives within the oncology unit. As part of a multidisciplinary team the post holder will carry out routine individual care duties for patients, clients, carers and relatives. Duties will include Phlebotomy skills, administration duties, ordering of supplies, answering phones and dealing with the public on a daily basis and carrying out general tasks to ensure an efficient clinic flow. Working closely with the Senior Nursing and Medical team would be expected. Excellent communication is essential. Knowledge of Computer and referral systems used within NHS Scotland would be beneficial but not essential as training would be given. Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 Months. Internal Applicants - Written approval must be sought from your line manager prior to applying for this secondment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
