As a member of the core clinical research facility (CRF) nursing team you will have opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in both research and cancer nursing delivering new and innovative treatments within the context of clinical trials. Previous experience of research and or oncology nursing is desirable but not essential as we offer comprehensive training within a competency framework. An ability to work evenings, night shifts and occasional weekends is a requirement of the job. We are open to applicants who would like to work permanent nights, Job share or flexible working. Develop and maintain the level of clinical skills necessary to perform highly specialised procedures as per study requirements alongside supporting junior staff to develop and maintain their expertise. Facilitate the delivery of specialised patient focused, protocol driven research in collaboration with patient, relatives, research teams and the Multidisciplinary team. Maintain awareness of current advances in cancer treatments, research and nursing practice implementing evidence-based care through continuing professional development. Demonstrate a pleasant and approachable manner and help create and promote a good working relationship The Christie is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 60,000 patients a year. We are based in Manchester and serve a population of 3.2 million across Greater Manchester & Cheshire, but as a national specialist around 15% patients are referred to us from other parts of the country. We provide radiotherapy through one of the largest radiotherapy departments in the world; chemotherapy on site and through 14 other hospitals; highly specialist surgery for complex and rare cancer; and a wide range of support and diagnostic services.
