Applicants should have an interest in working with individuals who have severe and enduring mental health problems and are difficult to engage. The specific purpose is to deliver care in a collaborative manner that reflects the principles of AOT working, particularly aspects relating to recovery and social inclusion. The Gloucester and Forest of Dean Assertive Outreach Team provides comprehensive mental health and social care to working age adults in the Gloucester locality and the Forest of Dean. The team provides a planned needs lead 8am-8pm (core hours 9-5) seven days a week service (reduced hours at weekend). The hours are 37.5 per week with some evenings and weekend shifts (on a rotational shift system). 'Flexible' working arrangements will be considered. Any request will be set against genuine operational requirements and limitations and it is not obligatory for a manager to accede to the request. The post will include care coordinating a designated caseload, working within CPA Policy and associated countywide risk procedures, travelling independently, use of IT skills and a working knowledge of legislation regarding safeguarding vulnerable adults, the MHA and MCA.
