You will have responsibility for the line management and clinical leadership of a community nursing team which provides quality nursing care to a defined caseload of patients attached to a general medical practice. Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to effectively prioritise workload are essential requirements enabling patients to remain as independent as possible in their own homes. You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be committed to the development of an effective flexible person-centred nursing team through your ongoing professional development and training as well as that of your team. Considerable community nursing experience is essential for this post and candidates must have already completed further study or demonstrate a willingness to complete further study towards a senior community nursing qualification. You will have a full induction and orientation programme as well as ongoing clinical supervision support to assist in your continued professional development. You will be required to work within a 24 hour, 7 day community nursing service. An ability to travel across the locality is essential. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
