Ensure patients are always under the correct consultant and treatment function on EPR. Schedule patients for day case procedures where necessary. Communicate with other hospitals and organisations to arrange patient transfers, maintaining a good working relationship with relevant staff. The purpose of this role is to provide an efficient and high standard of clerical and administrativeservice to the ward. Our team of Ward Administrators are the first point of contact into the unit for patients, relatives and visitors; and ensure the smooth running of the admission and discharge process for patients attending for surgery. They ensure that all necessary arrangements and records are in place ahead of admission and update the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system. The role also supports the nursing team in the unit with all relevant administrative tasks. Ward Administrators proactively engage in developing the ward, identifying areas for improvement and working with the team to develop and implement these. They are expected to be friendly, helpful and polite towards all patients and relatives ensuring a high standard of patient experience is delivered at all times in the unit. There is also the requirement to support the wider Theatre department and help cover other administrative roles in the event of absence and annual leave.
