Band 6 Occupational Therapist - Lancaster and Morecambe OA Integrated CMHT/Memory Assessment Service An interesting and varied full time vacancy has become available for an innovative and dynamic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to work in the Lancaster and Morecambe Older Adult Integrated Mental Health CMHT. The role will be primarily in the memory assessment function of the service. The successful candidate will have sound clinical and leadership skills, be enthusiastic about the role and its development and be driven to provide excellent mental health services to the local older adult population. Ideally, applicants should have experience of working with older adults with mental health needs and the ability to lead on assessment to support diagnostic formulation and provide treatment plans. They should also have excellent communication skills. The post holder will be a specialist clinical resource with whom other team members can consult on the complex association that mental health problems can have on peoples' occupational performance, and advise the team with regard to the relationship between mental health and occupation. They will be a key contributor to meeting the team's objectives in providing assessment and diagnosis, identifying risk, promoting social inclusion, health promotion and quality of life. In addition to core professional skills, the post holder will be expected to undertake a range of other generic clinical duties to support the team function and be responsive to the needs of patients, their family and carers The core function of the service are: To provide assessment and contribute to diagnostic formulation. The post holder would be expected to provide Occupational Therapy input across the Memory Assessment Service and support cover for a 5-day service.
