We are looking for 6 sessions over Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This team deals with the acute presentations on a daily basis and works closely with our GPs to provide the best care possible to our patients. We also allow our Advanced Practitioners to work on an area of specialism if of interest. We are happy to consider a Paramedic Practitioner as well as anyone already working as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in either Primary or Secondary care. Main duties of the job As an AN/CP working at The Drayton Surgery you will consult with patients presenting at the surgery with acute problems each day. From diagnosis to treatment, this is a varied role and will suit someone who is looking for a fast-paced yet rewarding position. About us The Drayton Surgery is a 23,800 patient surgery based in the North of the City of Portsmouth. We have 6 GP Partners, 10 Salaried GPs, 7 ANPs, 1 ACP and a team of Practice Nurses and Healthcare Support Workers. The successful candidate will have an assigned GP Partner mentor who will work closely with them to ensure they are comfortable and confident int he work they are doing. The nurse practitioner will need to prioritise and triage the needs of patients accordingly making any necessary referrals for investigations in the appropriate manner. Patients with problems needing referral to secondary care should be discussed with the registered GP before making such referral. Diagnosing and treating patients presenting with minor illness Triage and treat patients wishing to see a health care professional making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence and to acknowledge limitations.
