Must be trained in venepuncture Giving information to women and their families regarding their care, directing queries to professional staff as appropriate in a sensitive manner. Acting as a chaperone to the midwives/doctors as requested. Additional clinical duties may be delegated to the Maternity Assistant as appropriate, following discussion and in-service training. Act in accordance with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in England.
