This is a secondment post for 6 months. Please discuss and have agreement from your line manager before applying. You should already possess 4 GCSE's (grades 9 - 4 or C - A) or equivalent, RSA stage 3 typing, word processing (or have equivalent experience), knowledge of MS Office and be qualified or working towards NVQ Level 3 Business/ Medical Admin or AMSPAR. The ability to plan and prioritise a varied workload is essential, as are good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of staff groups at all levels. Main duties of the job The post holder will produce accurate clinical and general correspondence, regularly using complex and sensitive medical terminology from audio transcription. The post holder will also be required to respond to telephone calls from anxious and distressed patients, responding appropriately to contentious, sensitive and difficult enquiries.
