We have a rare opportunity for an experienced healthcare assistant to join our surgical inpatients team. As a Care Support Worker, you will monitor patients’ conditions pre and post surgery, escalating to the nursing staff where necessary. You will be a strong and motivated individual who is absolutely patient focused, with a desire and proven ability to deliver healthcare at its best. This role is suitable for anyone has previously worked in a health care environment as a Care Support Worker, Health Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker, Imaging Assistant or Nursing Assistant. Experience in a hospital environment is advantageous but not essential. You will work three 12-hour shifts per week from Monday – Sunday. Some night and weekend work is expected. Role Responsibilities As a Care Support Worker you will: Demonstrate good clinical practice at all times and be accountable for own actions Monitor patient’s observations in line with national standards throughout a patient admission Chaperone patients when required Willing to undertake phlebotomy when appropriately trained Ensure that your own professional development is maintained and enhanced Person Specification Essential Have a good standard of general education with proven literacy and numeracy skills Have proven communication skills Demonstrate basic IT skills Have experience working in the Care Sector as either a Care Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant or Clinical Support Worker Desirable Hold and NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care Have experience working as a Care Assistant, Clinical Support Worker or Care Support Worker in an acute healthcare setting Have experience undertaking ECG’s Have Phlebotomy experience KIMS Hospital is the largest independent hospital in Kent.
